Tot School: Farm Fun

We had fun doing some farm activities to go with her farm themed Learning Center this week.

Farm themed sensory tub. I posted about this earlier in the week.

Toilet paper farm animals. A Pinterest find from Penny Pinchin' Mom. I have found that if I do an activity with Littlemiss she will maintain interest much longer. She is a people person and if I leave her to paint by herself she leaves the project. So I painted the pig and she painted the chicken. I used hot glue to glue all the parts on, because I want it to sustain being played with. She pointed to where she wanted the parts to go and I glued them.

Farm beginning sounds pinwheel. This is from 1+1+1=1 withing the Farm Theme Printables. She did well matching the letters to match the beginning sounds of the words for the pictures. She really had to think and enjoyed the satisfaction of completing this activity.

Matching animal pictures to animal toys. I found this at 1+1+1=1 with the Farm Themed Printables as well. This is always a favorite activity.

Painting muddy pigs. Remember a few weeks ago when we mixed oatmeal into our red, white, and blue paint? It didn't turn out like I planned. I was hoping it would be more of a sensory experience and Littlemiss was simply grossed out by the oatmeal/paint mixture. Well, I found this painting activity on Pinterest (which I can't relocate which specific web page/blog now). Littlemiss painted two pigs pink one day. The next day she mixed her own "mud" mixture. Simply adding oatmeal to brown paint. She used her hands to smear "mud" on her pigs. It turned out to be a fun sensory/painting experience!

Washing horses with shaving cream. A simple favorite, shaving cream washing. I stuck her in BooBoo's high chair to try to contain the mess :)

Remember the photo of Littlemiss with her friend sharing shaving cream by touching noses on this post? Well, now when we play with shaving cream, she always wants to touch noses...so sweet :)

Rainy day fun. We have had a TON of rainy weather. Littlemiss loves to play in it! She started out with her umbrella, fully clothed, and with rain boots on. But she ended up completely naked running through our backyard in the rain! Crazy girl! I ended up throwing her into a bathing suit.

BooBoo hung out inside with me, just watching his wild sister play in the rain. She provides so much entertainment for him :)

It was a great week!
