I've seen the idea of using scrap fabric in a wipes container for endless baby fun on a few different blogs. I whipped one together for BooBoo thinking he would love it. To my surprise, he had no interest in pulling them out of the container! He just wanted to bang and chew on the container. He plays with it in this way happily for an extended period of time, so really it's a drum! I even prompted him by halfway pulling one out and then showing him how to pull them out...still no interest. Maybe he just needs more time with it.
I simply cut the scrap fabric with pinking shears. I didn't care to make all the fabric scraps the same size, I just tried to get a variety of colors and textures.
Happily banging away!

What a clever idea! I wish I had thought of that when my kids were babies! And what a cute baby!
