Impromtu Sensory Fun

Besides Littlemiss's learning center, I set up a few sensory activities a week. Simple, easy to prep play activities. Some are impromptu, and others I plan ahead.
Littlemiss loves to play tea party. She will set up a few animal or doll friends and have a party. She often sings "Happy Birthday" and brings us food and tea. She cleverly figured out that she could go to the fridge and fill her teapot with water and run back to her play room to play tea party. I quickly discovered trials of water leading to the playroom and water everywhere, so this was an impromptu sensory play set up. I just laid down a towel in our kitchen. Gave her a tub with water and her tea set. One day I even set up a tea party sensory play in the kiddo pool in our back yard. She quickly got frustrated though cause all her cups were floating.

Littlemiss wanted to help baking at GiGi's the other day, but would just grab flour or other cooking ingredients and throw them into the bowl. There are good times for cooking with Littlemiss and other times it's not ideal. We put some flour in a plastic container and let her go to town playing at the countertop next to us. She loved this...you can clearly see. She wanted to play with her Peanuts characters, so they got buried in flour and then we washed them off.

I set up some shaving cream fun for Littlemiss and a friend of hers. I set out a large container and a small tupperware container. Filled them both with plenty of shaving cream (2 cans to be exact) and added some food coloring drops. Shaving cream is Littlemiss's favorite sensory play to date.

Sharing shaving cream by touching noses :)

COVERED!

She decided to sit in the tub. She cracks me up!
