Chalkboard Herb Pots

I'm trying to revive my green thumb this year. I've been looking around and brainstorming ideas for growing some of my own herbs and veggies. I'm starting really small. I've grown herbs and a tomatoe plant before, I just haven't kept them alive. This year I'm determined to earn my green thumb!

I made chalkboard herb pots. I'm pretty sure I got the idea from a picture on Pinterest. I'm not sure. If you'd like to make your own I have a few pointers.

Supplies:
-terra cotta pots with a wide rim (the size you need)
-chalkboard spray paint
-old magazine pages
-painters tape
-designated area for spray painting
-chalkboard pen
-potting soil
-herbs and veggies

First I taped old magazine pages on the pots with painter's tape. Making sure to cover the entire lower half of the pot and leaving the pot rim uncovered. I sprayed the top of the pots, being careful not to spray to close, which would cause the paint to pool and run. I let the paint dry for 24 hours.

I removed the tape and paper. Then I labeled each pot and planted my herbs!

The first tomato sprout of the season!
