Spring Top Sewalong #2

For Made By Rae's Spring Top Sewalong you can enter 4 shirts. I'm on a roll and I've made my second shirt already! The first shirt I made is here. I am challenging myself to branch out and use different types of material. I used a sheer, polyester for the second shirt. It was definitely a challenge to sew with. It frayed easily, and I had to work to keep it from gathering in places I didn't want it to gather. I didn't use a pattern, I just used an undershirt to measure out the top piece of the blouse. To create the bottom of the blouse I folded material in half, then gathered it and attached it to the top piece (to give it more movement and flow, and to avoid having to sew a seam along the bottom of the blouse). To bring the blouse in around the waist, I made a belt out of left over material. I love how light and flowy the blouse is, which can't be seen well in a picture. The bottom part of the shirt moves as I move. I want to make more pieces from this material.

Baby approved!
