This is a really random post. Well, I am back to sewing more regularly after taking a hiatus. I love to sew and create. It's a great way to unwind. I get excited thinking up things to sew, not to mention my fabric hoarding issues. I now have a large, growing pile of material and patterns to sew. Plus a large pile of things to repair that I'm avoiding. My goal is to sew a dress a week for each girl, but I'm already a week behind on that goal....eeek! Sewing is last on my to-do list these days. To start off this sewing season was a pair of matching strawberry dresses for my girls. {I didn't edit or crop these pics. I've changed computers and don't have any editing programs on this one, nor do I have much time for that! Hope you enjoy these raw, genuine images :)}
This is the
Sally Dress pattern from
Very Shannon. The pattern is for sizes 2T-8. I adjusted the shoulders and added a button to the back of Iris's so it fits her. The deep pockets are perfect for treasures or a small toy. It would be a good sew for a beginner. The material is Strawberry Green from Heather Ross's Briar Rose collection. I LAUVE her fabrics. Wasn't sure if I was going to like an entire dress in such a bright fabric, but I am quite pleased with how they turned out.
Always in motion!
Like my foot peeking out of the bottom left corner!?! Whoops!
So cute! And it's obvious how much these two sisters love each other - their faces are so lit up! I've missed your blog - happy to see it resurrected.
ReplyDeleteAs to photo editing, if you've got Microsoft Office, you've got a good basic built-in picture editor. Picture Viewer is usually set as the default program, and it won't let you edit pictures. You can change to Microsoft Office that by right clicking on a picture file in a folder, then going almost halfway down the pop-up menu to "Open with", and then in the next menu that opens, go to the bottom to "Choose default programs". Select Microsoft Office. Typical extensions are .jpg, .jpeg, gif, tif, png, bmp. Look for these extensions in your picture files, and make Microsoft Office the default program for all of them. Then you'll have an "Edit Pictures" button at the top of the screen when you open a picture. If you click on it you'll see an editing window open on the right, with choices to crop, resize, autocorrect, rotate, etc. Clicking on one of those will open the menu choices for that selection. To get back to another editing tool, just click on "Edit Pictures" at the top again, and all of the options will show again. If you need more info, just email me.
