Simple Play

I find that the simplest play is typically the best. I set up more elaborate sensory experiences for Littlemiss, who tells stories with the objects she is playing with. For BooBoo I keep it really simple. Right now we have a water table outside our back door right by the kitchen. It works well in our house cause I can see him from the kitchen where I spend a lot of time. I throw down a towel or two on the inside of the door and leave it open. Yesterday there was some soapy water left over from a previous play activity, so BooBoo went right to playing.

He started by simply pouring water.

This kept him happy for awhile as he swirled around water and poured repeatedly.

Then Littlemiss showed him how to pour water on himself.

That's when the real fun began! He poured water on his face over and over and over again. I was trying to cook dinner, but I couldn't concentrate with all the belly laughter going on! They had SO much fun together!!!

They were laughing so hard at each other! It is so sweet to see them playing together.

He even let her pour water on his head.

Everyone ended up in their underwear and BooBoo is trying to pour water on me in this picture.

Sometimes simple play is best.
