I started losing my steam and needed to restart and rejuvenate, so we've taken Tot School down a notch. We haven't focused on a letter of the week for the past few weeks, but have had some fun. I put camera down more and simply enjoyed Littlemiss.
While making play dough for some of Littlemiss's friends she wanted to be really hands-on with making it and ended up pouring a TON of flour into our play dough mix, so I put a bin on the floor in the kitchen and let her explore the flour. She, again, wanted to get inside the bin :)
I let her pour water into it for a change in experience.
I gave her a few new tools to play in the flour/water mixture.
She tried to eat it...not very tasty!
She ran the spoon up and down her leg...
I ended up just sticking her in the tub. I made the mistake of trying to wash the sludge down the drain...it was clogged for a few days! Oops!
I set up a water table outside and squirted some shaving cream on it. She loved this as well. I added a truck so she could have a car wash. She LOVES going through the car wash, so I thought this would be fun.
She sorted paper and stickers by color. She lost her steam part way through, so I kept encouraging her to keep sorting and she finished it! Sometimes it's about teaching her perserverance til the end. She's always so proud of herself when she finishes something that took some patience and time.
At one point she was dropping the different items and watching them fall. I forsee science experiments in our future...
The girl can climb. She learned how to climb up the rope ladder to get into the play set. I was so impressed and terrified at the same time.
Lots of messy fun ~ the best kind! Stopping by from tot school. That outdoor play house looks so fun. :)
