Little Miss Chatterbox

Little Miss Chatterbox cracks me up everyday with her new expressions and goofy personality. We all wonder where she got this from!?! What a mystery. I never want to forget all the cute and funny things she says and I think it's only going to get better and better as she gets older. It's also fun to document her development at each stage, since I know I'll forget it all when it passes!

-"WaHOO!" When excited she'll exclaim this while she throws her hands in the air.

-"AMAZING!" Another new excited expression that she exclaims while throwing her hands in the air. She did it this past weekend at my parents house while my dad was pretending to put on a dolphin show with a blow up dolphin (like when we visited Sea World). He threw the dolphin and she exclaimed "AMAZING!"

-While walking around the house with Curious George she'll play out the movie and search for an elephant through our whole house. She talks to George the whole time and says things like "Where the elephant go!?!"

-I hung tissue paper flowers in the kids room above each of their beds. A few mornings ago I crawled in her toddler bed with her and she pointed at the poof above her head and said "Flyin' Flowers!" And that totally makes sense, since they are hanging from the ceiling!

-She has grabbed her play cell phone and put it out in front of her face and said, "Smile!" Guess I'm responsible for this one.

-When she wakes up in the morning she now calls for us saying "Mommy, where are you!?! C'mon Mommy!" It's much more cute than demanding, I promise.

-At any point during the day she will bust out into song. Typically her favorites "A, B, C's" "Twinkle, Twinkle" "Lullaby and Goodnight" "Wheels on the Bus" "Jesus Loves Me"

-When "Jesus Loves Me" plays on her CD for her bedtime songs, she sings with it. It melts my heart every time.

-When she wants to leave the house and is bored with being home alone with Mommy she'll ask "Go Bye Bye?" and stand at the door. It has been too hot to go anywhere, so this has been happening a lot lately.

-She will tell any person, stuffed animal, baby doll, inanimate object, and especially her blankie to "Give me hug!" or "Give me kiss!" With which she follows up with a big hug or kiss. We do this every time we leave the house to her blankie. It actually works well to help her separate and we'll do anything to keep blankie at home!

-To no surprise she has been fake crying when she wants attention from time to time. Sometimes I ask her plainly "Are you fake crying?" and she'll respond with "Yeah!" Seriously. A few times I've laid on the floor and fake cried with her. She typically stops and says "Mommy crying! It's ok Mommy." While she rubs my arm. I know the psychology behind this is horrible so I quickly pop up and say "Mommy kidding!"

-When she does something she thinks is funny she'll say "It's funny!"

-Clay taught her to chase us around the house screaming "I'm gonna get you!" in a deep voice and "RAAAARRR!"

-While snuggling before bed or just playing during the day she will rub my arm or the top of my head and say "So sweet, Mommy, soooo sweet." This is quite possibly my favorite. She's started doing this to stuffed animals and other people too. What a huge heart she has.

-She will throw her baby dolls on the ground and then pick them up and say "It's ok, baby, its's ok" while comforting them. It's hilarious! And I always wonder, where in the world did she learn to do this!?!

-If she bumps your leg or runs into you she may apologize. It's the sweetest "I'm sorry."

-Sometimes when I lay on the floor in her room, she'll sit on me, bouncing up and down, saying "I ride a horsey!"

-The last few weeks she was in her crib she slept with her Shamu killer whale. A few mornings we went in to get her out of bed and she was saying things like "I ride Shamu! Weeeee!"

-She told a 3 year old boy at a play group recently "Go to timeout!!!" She's definitely ready to be a big sister.

-She knows all her friends and family members by name and talks about them with me, especially when she wants to see them. It's precious.

-She knows all the animals we've taught her, which is mostly farm, zoo, SeaWorld, and household animals. She LOVES animals!

-She's identifying all of the letters of the alphabet and most of their sounds. She's been able to name all the letters for the past 3 months, but is now attaching sounds to them all. This is something she loves to do.

-She's counting to 10 and sometimes higher. There isn't a real concept of counting objects yet, just the numbers in order.

-She's identifying most of her shapes. She often points out shapes while we are on the go. Like, when we ride elevators she will say "Circle!" when she sees the buttons light up.

-She likes colors and often gets them right, but her default color is of course pink! She'll call almost any color pink. It must be innate!

Love my little chatterbox.

As a side note, all kids develop at different rates. LittleMiss's development is not a reflection of what is normal for other children her age. There are children who are more verbal and less verbal than she is at her age. The normal range for toddler development is really wide. If you have any questions about your child's development your pediatrician is always a good resource.
